Phantom Blade Zero Crimson Forest: route and quest checkpoints

How can you place yourself on the route?

The waterfall encounter with The Hunt supplies a chain-sickle exploration tool before the forest. Published guides disagree about chapter numbering, so this planner uses events and landmarks instead.

Progress marker Immediate focus Review before moving on
Entering Crimson Forest Bells, main road and the bridge encounter Note newly usable traversal points
Outlaw Trap area Route towards Jing Ye Apprentice Healer hand-in
Thieves’ Camp reached Conversations, patients and locked entrances Identify the required crank or dungeon key
Approaching Bai Chilian Main route into the next region Yu’er’s tasks and accepting Lanlan’s tale

The route framework comes from Game8’s forest walkthrough; the task windows are checked against PowerPyx. Our table groups travel by decisions to review, rather than reproducing a pickup-by-pickup itinerary.

Does a broken bridge mean you need to backtrack?

The route after the broken bridge uses the chain sickle’s traversal ability. Look for the relevant interaction before assuming you lack another boss reward. A blocked route and an unnoticed traversal point call for different fixes.

For locked passages, compare the entrance with the actual item name. The forest tunnel, lodge cellar and camp dungeon do not share one universal key. Use the patient entrance table when following Yu’er’s task through these areas.

When should you stop to talk to NPCs?

Make Jing Ye and Bai Chilian deliberate pause points. Before the former, check the herb delivery; before the latter, review wounded thieves and Lanlan. The missables checklist separates those deadlines from precautionary advice.

Rescuing Quick Hand Zhang near the Trail of Cages leads to further camp conversations. Keep “met this NPC” separate from “conversation produced the next objective” in your notes. Walking past someone is not a reliable task-completion record.

How should you record the mist section?

The walkthrough identifies crying sounds as a navigation clue. We do not reproduce an unexplained left/right door sequence: its usefulness depends on entering the same junction from the same direction. Note your bell, entrance orientation, audible clue and return point, then compare those anchors if a route does not match.

For combat, consult Jing Ye. For preparation, use the early upgrade review.
