Phantom Blade Zero missables: early progress checkpoints

What should you check before your next boss?

Start with the action you are about to take. An item in your inventory is not proof of a completed hand-in. Open the quest log, check the relevant conversation, and then decide whether to continue.

Next action Check first Confidence boundary
Leaving Weeping Creek Valley First objective of A Severed Mindseal Precaution; the precise failure trigger is unresolved
Fighting Jing Ye Apprentice Healer hand-in The trophy guide identifies his defeat as the deadline
Fighting Bai Chilian Yu’er’s early hand-ins, A Healer’s Mercy, and accepting Lanlan’s tale NPC availability changes with story progression

The PowerPyx roadmap and Game8 missables guide support these checkpoints. PowerPyx explicitly leaves the exact Mindseal failure trigger unresolved. Our earlier checkpoint is an editorial precaution, not a newly verified trigger.

Which hand-ins have you actually confirmed?

Tick an item after checking your game. This list cannot read saves or diagnose failed quests. English and Chinese share browser marks; later-game missables are outside its scope.

Before moving the story forward

Saved in this browser. English and Chinese share the same progress.

  1. Before leaving the valley, confirm that the Primal Stone was returned to the Shadow Warden.

  2. Return to Yu’er at the outpost before Jing Ye; carrying the herbs is not the same as delivering them.

  3. Inspect Hua’s arena and complete the outpost hand-in; review this before Bai Chilian.

  4. After helping four wounded thieves, return to Yu’er at the camp.

  5. Check that Secrets of the Baishan Sect is in your log before Bai Chilian. This mark covers acceptance only.

What if you already crossed a checkpoint?

Inspect your log and the NPC’s current state before choosing an earlier save. A lost conversation does not mean the entire region is inaccessible. Likewise, revisiting an area or reloading your latest save does not prove that a failed tale can recover. Keep a separate save before a major transition so you can choose how far to roll back if needed.

Story spoiler: why stop before Bai Chilian?

Game8 describes a change to residents at the outpost and thieves’ camp after this fight. Returning for ordinary items and returning for an NPC conversation are different kinds of backtracking.

Use the Yu’er quest table for hand-ins, the valley checklist for orientation, and the Crimson Forest route for your next progression review.

Checked October 30, 2026 against published launch guides; no GameNavi save-file testing is claimed.
