FAQ

What is the pity in Monster Hunter Outlanders?
Guides report an SSR within 90 pulls on every main banner, the featured adventurer by 120 pulls once per featured banner, and a one-time SSR pick after 300 standard pulls.
Does pity carry over to the next banner?
The 90-pull SSR count and a lost 50/50 carry over between featured banners. The 120-pull featured guarantee does not, and standard pulls never count toward featured pity.

How much do you need to pull before pity?

Enter where your counter stands. The calculator gives worst-case limits; an SSR can always arrive sooner.

Worst-case limits from guide-reported pity rules, not odds or predictions. An SSR can come sooner. Check the banner details in the game before spending; rules can change with updates.

How does pity work on each banner?

These rules come from GameWith Japan (updated November 3, 2026) and GameWith’s English site, which agree on every number. The English page warns that most figures were first confirmed in the closed beta and only partly rechecked in version 1.0.11.0, so open the banner details in the game before spending.

Banner SSR guarantee Featured guarantee Extra rule
Featured (limited), e.g. Midori Within 90 pulls, 50% featured Featured adventurer by 120 pulls, once per banner Lose the 50/50 and the next SSR is featured
Rotating (rate-up standard character) Within 90 pulls, 50% featured By 120 pulls, once per banner Same structure as featured
Standard Within 90 pulls (adventurer or Buddy) — After two Buddy SSRs in a row, the next is an adventurer; one free SSR pick at 300 pulls
Beginner Standard SSR by the 50th pull — 50 pulls in total; a 10-pull costs 8 contracts

What carries over between banners?

  • The 90-pull SSR count carries over from one featured banner to the next, and so does a lost 50/50. The same applies between rotating banners.
  • The 120-pull featured guarantee belongs to one banner and resets when it ends.
  • Featured and standard banners keep separate counters. Standard pulls never move you toward a featured adventurer.

In practice, the 120-pull guarantee usually decides your worst case on a new featured banner: without it, losing a 50/50 at pull 90 could mean up to 180 pulls.

What are the rates and costs?

SSR SR R
Featured and rotating 0.6% (featured adventurer 0.3%) 9.4% (adventurers 7.05%, Buddies 2.35%) 90%
Standard 0.6%, split evenly 9.4% (adventurers 4.7%, Buddies 4.7%) 90%

A Featured or Standard Contract costs 150 Rutacoin, so the milestones work out to:

Milestone Pulls Rutacoin
Guaranteed SSR 90 13,500
Featured guarantee 120 18,000
Lost 50/50 without the 120 rule 180 27,000
Standard selection 300 45,000

SSR Buddies drop only from the standard and rotating banners, not the featured one.

Which banner should you spend on?

Pick the featured banner for a limited adventurer you actually want. Midori’s runs from October 29 to November 27, 2026. Standard pulls are better treated as progress toward the 300 pick. If you are still deciding whether to start over, the reroll guide compares what each guide recommends, and the adventurer explorer shows each character’s weapon and class.

Checked November 4, 2026. GameNavi has not verified these rules in-game; we will update this page when an official rate notice or a patch changes them. Launch rewards that add pulls are listed on the codes page.
