Haze in Monster Hunter Outlanders: skills and how to get

FAQ

How do you get Haze in Monster Hunter Outlanders?
Join a Squad and buy 30 special invitation tickets in the Squad shop. Each costs 800 Squad Crests, so Haze takes 24,000 crests. Haze is not in any recruitment banner.
Is Haze worth getting?
Gamerch rates Haze SS overall, the highest of the four newest adventurers, mainly for the party-wide elemental critical damage buff. Because Haze is free, the only cost is time spent earning crests.

Who is Haze in Monster Hunter Outlanders?

Haze is a Dual Blades fighter who switches into a demon state, parries attacks and marks monsters for the whole party. Haze is also the only adventurer you cannot pull: the Squad shop is the only source.

How do you get Haze?

According to Game8, the Squad shop sells special invitation tickets for 800 Squad Crests each, and 30 tickets recruit Haze: 24,000 crests. Dengeki Online also notes that Haze does not appear in recruitment. Crests come from:

  • the daily supply in your Squad,
  • the Squad Arena, which Game8 lists for Saturdays at 20:15 Japan time,
  • the permanent “Forward, Squad!” missions you unlock after joining.

Leaving a Squad locks you out of joining another for one hour, so pick one you will stay in. Item names here are translated from the Japanese client.

How does Haze’s kit work?

  1. Skill 1 enters Demon Mode. Attack and movement speed rise, Haze no longer flinches, stamina drains and every hit fills the Demon Gauge.
  2. A full gauge unlocks Archdemon Mode. Tap Skill 1 again. Some moves now drain the gauge, and the mode ends when it is empty.
  3. Skill 3 becomes Crimson Fang Slash in Archdemon Mode. It is a forward slash into rapid diagonal slashes that drain the gauge, ending with a final cut.
  4. During Crimson Fang Slash, Skill 1 becomes a parry. Its opening frames evade attacks; a successful parry counters, refills a large part of the gauge and returns to Crimson Fang Slash.
  5. Skill 2 is a sliding spin combo. In Demon Mode it gains a jumping downward stab; in Archdemon Mode it becomes airborne spinning slashes.

Why do guides rate Haze highly?

The ultimate is a party buff. Haze throws a dust-covered knife: monsters in the dust take +6% elemental critical damage and receive a mark for 12 seconds. Land 12 hits before it fades and the mark explodes, raising every party member’s elemental critical damage to 25% for at least 8 seconds. Gamerch also mentions a link skill that raises the party’s critical rate, without giving numbers.

Trait Effect reported by Gamerch
Unique trait Each combo hit adds a stack, up to 5; each gives +3% damage (+15% max). Taking damage clears all stacks
Survival trait At night, the party carves 50% faster (does not stack with the same effect)

Gamerch rates Haze SS overall. The reroll rankings in our reroll comparison leave Haze out because no banner offers Haze.

Which other Adventurers use Dual Blades?

Keres and Raya also use Dual Blades, both as Disruptors. Haze is the only Support among them. Compare all thirteen in the adventurer explorer.

Checked November 4, 2026 against Gamerch (updated November 1), Game8’s Squad Crest guide and Dengeki Online. GameNavi has not tested Haze’s damage or the shop price in game.
