Who is Luxheart in Monster Hunter Outlanders?

Luxheart is a showman with a Great Sword and fireworks. His Heat meter decides how he fights: slow charged swings when empty, a fast combo once he has Heat. In Japanese he is called Brix (ブリックス).

How do you get Luxheart?

The permanent Adventure Rank Dash event gives one SR adventurer at Adventurer Rank 20 and another at 30: Luxheart and Ryunosuke. Claim the reward in the Event Center once you reach the rank. There is no reason to pull for him.

How does Luxheart’s kit work?

1. With no Heat, normal attacks are a charge chain: an overhead slash, a strong charged slash and a true charged slash, each hitting harder the longer you charge.
2. With Heat, normal attacks become a fast combo of up to three slashes.
3. Skill 1 is a guard. A perfect guard grants 1 Heat and lets your next normal attack jump to the third combo hit.
4. Skill 2 is a rising slash that gains Heat. It gets stronger with your combo stage and grants more Heat at higher stages. Heat caps at 6.
5. Skill 3 is the finisher. It spends 4 or more Heat: Luxheart throws the sword up and it crashes down in an explosion that scales with the Heat spent.

Gamerch notes that simply alternating normal attacks and Skill 2 already forms a working combo, which makes him easy to pick up, though his wide swinging motions take practice to guard and dodge around.

What does Luxheart bring to a party?

His ultimate throws a firework bomb that dazes the target. Gamerch points out this still works on monsters that ignore traps, but it is not a full lock like Raya’s ultimate. His co-op attack, a firework show with his Buddy, grants 2 Heat on hit.

Which other Adventurers use the Great Sword?

Pyro also uses the Great Sword, as an Assault damage dealer. Luxheart is the Disruptor option. Compare everyone in the adventurer explorer, or see the reroll comparison for rankings.
