Phantom Blade Zero Mirage Estate: masks, pillar and late pickups

What should be finished before entering Mirage Estate?

Finish Secrets at the Heart of the Lake and the first four Long Pillar trials before crossing the estate’s story threshold. The fifth pillar is inside this region, so it cannot belong to the pre-entry checklist.

This page groups selected late-game pickups by the decision they affect. It is not a claim to document every chest or to reproduce your map’s completion percentage. The official town image on the cover is an illustration, not a marked pickup map.

How do you keep the mask pieces from becoming a loose-item checklist?

Treat the Nuo Mask as a small return loop: find three different fragments, then return to the Old Beggar at Nuo Mask Altar. Having the pieces in your bag is not the same as completing that return step.

Fragment Useful travel anchor Landmark to inspect
Sorrow Back Hill Follow the wooden bridges toward the building on the right, then the bridge on its left; the fragment shares a stop with Sha-Chi Amber
Wrath Opera House onward In the area beyond the theatre, find the campfire and sign; the lower ledge behind the sign leads toward an altar
Joy Willow Pavilion Follow the route to the building and check inside on the left

Record fragment names, not just “three mask items”. These are not the four Acolyte masks used by the lake route. When all three are present, make the return visit before pushing the main story onward.

Which detour matters for the ending route?

At Covered Corridor, review the pillar route before continuing toward Willow Pavilion. The approach uses the lower path, a bridge and grappling platforms. Once the Long Pillar Bell is available, interact with the pillar and complete the fight; activating a Bell alone does not count as a trial victory.

Use the five-pillar checklist to verify all victories rather than relying on the number of fast-travel points. A missing trial and a missing mask fragment are different problems, even when both involve revisiting the estate.

What needs attention immediately after the Tiger Cannon fight?

Pause before interacting with the body on the stairs. First look to your right and collect the Memory Flower there. The subsequent body interaction reveals another flower, but the earlier pickup can disappear if you reverse the order.

This is an order-sensitive check, not simply “come back when you own the Tiger Cannon”. Separate the two pickups in your notes. If the first is absent, confirm which interaction has already happened before searching the entire region again.

When should you turn back for unfinished tasks?

Obtaining the Tiger Cannon opens opportunities to revisit breakable walls. Review the obstacle-to-tool table before leaving the region for the final route. Resolve the fifth pillar, the mask hand-in and remaining reachable collections while travel is still available.

A useful exit review is: quest completion → trial victories → interaction-sensitive flowers → newly accessible walls. Check time-sensitive hand-ins before optional detours, and finish wanted pickups before triggering irreversible story progression. Do not postpone everything until the final Bell in the ending guide; an earlier transition can already reduce your available return routes.
